Every Desert Silence guest receives this list six weeks before they travel. It's been refined over ten years and about 400 guests.
Layers, not volume
Days can reach 24°C while nights drop to 5°C. Bring a warm fleece, a down jacket that packs small, a hat and thin gloves. Linen or cotton for the day.
Feet
Trail shoes rather than boots — the ground is stony but flat. Sandals for camp.
Leave at home
Hairdryers (there's no mains power), drones, and anything you'd be sad to get dusty.
Pack for one weather system in the day and another at night.
