Overview

This is our most physical week and one of our most loved. We walk 12–16 km a day on well-made mountain paths with 600–900 m of ascent, always at the pace of the slowest walker, and always with a long lunch at a hut.

Every evening we come back to the same hotel in Val di Funes — no bag-carrying, no new beds — for Elias's three-round sauna, a cold plunge, dinner and early sleep. By the fifth day most guests say the climbs feel easier than the first one did.

From

Is it for you?

You'll love it if…

  • You walk regularly and can manage 5–6 hours on your feet

  • You want a real challenge with real comfort at the end of it

  • You're curious about sauna and cold plunge done properly

Probably not if…

  • You have knee or ankle problems that make descents painful

  • You'd prefer a slower, more restful week — see Desert Silence

  • You're afraid of heights — some paths have exposed sections with cables

I came for the trekking and left with a sauna habit and four friends I still message every week. Nothing ever felt rushed.

Two days into the silence I stopped reaching for my phone. By day four I could hear the camels before I saw them.
